dub launches Arlo, an AI assistant for portfolio analysis
The AI investing tool covers diversification and risk from a customer's holdings. dub says regulated advice comes from its SEC-registered adviser.
dub has launched Arlo, an AI investing assistant inside its social-investing app. Arlo answers questions about diversification, concentration, risk exposure and performance using a customer's holdings. dub says the assistant can also make portfolio recommendations consistent with a client's suitability and investment objectives.
Advice delivered through Arlo comes from dub Advisors, LLC, an investment adviser registered with the SEC. The underlying technology is developed and owned by dub's parent company, DASTA, Inc. The user interacts with an AI tool, but the regulated advice comes from a registered adviser.
How Arlo uses customer holdings
Customers can ask Arlo for analysis grounded in their own holdings, which may make concentration or diversification easier to connect to an actual portfolio. A general answer about sector risk differs from an assessment of one person's exposure. dub CEO Steven Wang called Arlo a "natural extension" of the company's effort to widen access to investing knowledge.
dub says the decision process is traceable from end to end. dub's announcement also says advice is limited to portfolios on dub, and includes the warning "Arlo is an AI tool; its analysis may contain errors."
The company's earlier expansion into copy trading built the audience and holdings data that Arlo can now use. Its platform lets users follow portfolios associated with creators and public figures.
Customers and market context
dub says 58% of its customers identify as conservative investors. The company reports nearly two million downloads, about 900,000 sign-ups and more than $2 billion in trades.
A 2025 Harris Poll commissioned by dub and fielded June 17 to 19 among 2,100 U.S. adults found that six in ten Gen Z investors have money in the market, while 17% feel confident they understand it. dub also cites a 2026 BridgeWise study in which 78% of investors use AI tools to support decisions.
Other wealth platforms are also embedding AI into portfolio workflows. eToro's Tori assistant combines market information with portfolio features. Public's Alpha product brought generative AI into investment research, and Webull's Vega AI is another example.
